Dolors
For Dolors, nothing beats the organic walnuts from Can Galderic, a family firm in Santa Eulàlia de Ronçana that roasts nuts over a wood fire.
‘If you want to know what walnuts really taste like, don’t think twice. These are proper walnuts. Absolutely delicious!’
Gerard
Gerard’s mind is made up: the fuet (a thin cured Catalan sausage) from L’Esquiador, a small family business in Ripoll that has been making charcuterie for three generations.
‘I first tried it because a friend who’s a member gave me one, and I couldn’t quite believe it was as good as she kept saying, not at that price. When I tasted it, I knew I’d never buy Casa Tarradellas again.’
Rosa
Rosa’s favourites are the chocolate bars from IDEAS Comercio Justo and Tony’s Chocolonely, two fair-trade brands working to end labour exploitation, often of children, in the cocoa trade.
‘Every time I come to the shop I have the same problem: which one do I pick? They’re amazing. A sweet dilemma!’
Mila
A good local honey: Mila, as a member, suggested it to the buying circle, who took it on without a second thought.
‘This honey comes from the Aragonese Pyrenees, from Sieso to be exact, a village that was abandoned and has come back to life thanks to a group of people who have spent many years working the land and living as a community.’
Jaume
Jaume loves the fennel from Hortec, tasty whichever way you cook it.
‘At home we have it roasted, boiled, puréed, fried in batter… on its own, with other vegetables or with meat or fish. It always adds a freshness and that very Mediterranean flavour. It also reminds us of country walks, with the verges full of fennel.’

Prices in plain sight
Our margin is public: 17% on the essentials range and 22% on everything else. No loss leaders, no bait offers. The full catalogue, with prices, is in the members’ online shop. And in the shop itself everything is out on the shelves, open to everyone.
