No small print

- If you leave, we give your contribution back.
- You can change how you take part whenever you like.
- Coming to a Cafè FoodCoop (monthly) doesn’t commit you to anything.
Choose how you take part
There are three ways, and they all count the same. You can switch later on.

Also: if you live with another member, you can do a tandem shift and share it between you. And if you’re over 65, have reduced mobility or an illness, or are on maternity or paternity leave, shifts aren’t compulsory: talk to us.
How to become a member, step by step
-
Fill in the form
Five minutes. Sending it doesn’t commit you to anything.
-
Pay your contribution and choose how you take part
€40, paid once, and we give it back if you leave. Pay at the shop or by bank transfer to Fiare Banca Etica (IBAN ES38 1550 0001 2100 1255 8524); if you pay by transfer, send the receipt to cooperativa@foodcoopbcn.cat. Shift, circle or fee: you can change it later.
-
Shop at member prices
With your digital member card. You don’t have to wait for the welcome session to come and shop.
-
Come to the welcome session
45 minutes. We explain how the shop works and answer your questions.
Still thinking about it?
Do I lose the €40?
No. It’s share capital: it’s yours, and we give it back if you leave. Your liability as a member is limited to that amount.
Are you more expensive than the supermarket round the corner?
It depends on the shop. Today, at member prices, the basket is cheaper here than at 2 of the 4 supermarkets we compare; if you’re not a member, it’s cheaper than at 1 of the 4. Where we’re dearer, many of their products aren’t organic and ours are. See today’s basket, including the shops that beat us.
What if I can’t do shifts?
Choose the quarterly fee or a working circle. None of the three options leaves you out, and all three give you exactly the same benefits.
I don’t live in Barcelona.
Become a supporting member: you put in the €40, have a say and a vote at the assembly and help keep the project going, though you shop at the public price.
Can I come and have a look before I decide anything?
Of course. The shop is open to everyone: come in, buy whatever you like and decide another day. And once a month there’s a Cafè FoodCoop, our open café, where you can find out about the project and ask your questions.
Don’t live in Barcelona? You can be a supporting member. What membership includes and what we ask of you. All the questions. Can’t find yours? Write to us.
Shall we get started?
Signing up takes five minutes. If you’d like us to explain it all first, come to a Cafè FoodCoop, our monthly open café, where you can find out about the project and ask your questions.
